Flip her earlobe over her ear? Whaaaa...
[–]Bryceybryce1 points 12 years ago [recovered] (6 children) | Copy Link
Like the little earhole area. Imagine you were to plug up her ear with your finger but instead do the same with the earlobe over the earhole. It sounds strange, feels strange, but in a pinch it works.

I'm still really confused. You're plugging her ear and talking into it? Wouldn't that make it harder to hear?
Can you post a diagram or something?

You would imagine. It's a bit counterintuitive which is part of why it's so strange. My understanding is that you are creating a medium that simultaneously blocks white noise while amplifying directed noise, specifically your voice. I'm on mobile but I'll see what I can do.

Would be appreciated

i think he means the front little bottom ear flap thingy. push it in over her earhole a little and then talk to her.

Try it with your own ear, then tap on the finger that is holding your ear lobe. Then compare the sound of that to if you just held your finger next to your ear and tapped on it. It's significantly louder. I'm guessing the ear lobe helps pick up the vibrations. It sure is strange but seems like it works.

Just to clarify:
This works very well, but you have to be gentle
Don't shout when doing it but rather lower your voice to normal talking volume or you risk effectively shouting in her ear.
Don't use the earlobe (which is the bottom part of the ear, which is usually pearced, but rather the tragus, which is the little part right next to the earhole

And if they have earrings?

This is one of the most insanely useful things posted on this entire board ever.

forreal, i gotta give this a try and confirm it for myself.

It makes a lot of sense. It's the same as wearing earplugs to a loud concert. It gets rid of the loud background noise, but you're still able to hear normal range sounds.

Imagine if the girl goes berserk for getting all personal and shit haha

If you have enough comfort with a girl to do this to her, you can just use the loud music as an excuse and take her to a quieter area.
