Do what you want is good advice. Anecdote- asked a girl out in high school, online, she rejected me. I called her a lesbian. Apologized after in person which she appreciated. Fast forward and i hooked up with her several years later after i had grown up a bit. Things change, if you wanna be friendly go for it. It cant hurt. You dont need to apologize even, you can just be friendly. Maybe say sorry for being a dick, shed probably brush it off really quick because she seems nice. Having girls as friends is a good thing, and can lead to meeting other girls. Trust your gut and dont get butthurt.

Why even ask this question? You can apologize, or not apologize. Do what you think is right, not what anyone else says. Keep in mind what you want from her as a person, and then make a decision.

DO NOT APOLOGIZE. That is the worst thing you could do, you're basically reminding her how she rejected you and it shows that you care when obviously she did not. Just act normal as if nothing had happened at all, that's your best chance. Why would you want to bring up something that makes you look bad, don't you think so?

do what you want, not what someone tells you that you should do.

if you want to apologize, apologize.

if you don't, don't.

good outcomes can come from either one. in any case, be explicitly true to your true desires. only you can assuredly speak for yourself.

there is something to be said for honor but there is nothing dishonorable about being honest. you never have to be supplicant to anyone other than your boss. if you must apologize then do so when it is strategically convenient or on your terms. just be clear with your desires.

In that situation, you stayed true to yourself. That's not rejection. I applaud you.

Similar scenario, first girl I've dated right here in college now we went on a couple outings, she asked me to be friends. Told her I can't be friends with someone I like, she got upset- her and her friends ignoring me for a week, so I apologized and we're friends now. To be honest, I think we're a lot better as friends. The benefits of that are great- dating her friends, advice, etc., and anyway I wasn't attracted to her 'in that way'- I liked her as a person, and all but couldn't see her in light sexually.. Depends on the situation.

Worked for me recently. The girl is smart, funny, super intelligent. In short don't give up and keep asking her out. Make it self amusing. Laugh about it inside. You won't let a little thing like her disinterest stop you. You've chosen her. Of course stop if she gives a hard no. But if she smiles and pretends to get angry, push forward full speed. North American women are socially conditioned not to show any interest.
p.s. You played perfectly with "I don't have time for "being friends"". I'll bet $100 she's attracted to you now. At first she was pissed off at your reply but anger (emotions) for you makes her horny. Good luck bro. Keep playing.
This one girl once told me she beat the crap out of things in Combat class. I said I pictured her more feminine and weak. She said she's a strong girl. I said "I don't like those. If I wanted someone strong, I'd date a man". She called me sexist. I replied "you're right, I am sexist and I don't want to change. Guess what? She wants to go on a second date with me. And this is a woman with 3 degrees. I expected her to stop replying.
