I forgot a title. Dammit.

I've been wanting to share some of the experiences I've had since I started reading on Seddit and the various books recommended here. This one happened about two months ago.

I am in the National Guard, and this requires me to drive two hours away once a month to go to drill with my unit. This time, we had health assessments the whole weekend, so the drill floor was covered with civilians from different health providers in the area. There was one booth in particular that I noticed straight away, because the most attractive woman in the room was working it. Tall, blonde, seemed to be in her mid twenties. All 200 guys in my company were murmuring about her.

So my assessment was the first day, and it finished up rather quickly. Her station was the last in the order, it was the checkout station. So I walk up, make eye contact and smile, and she smiles and asks me to sit. I explain that I have an injured knee and it needs work done on it, but other than that I am ready to check out. It turns out she is actually the case manager for my entire state, and she immediately gives me a medical profile to keep me from having to do any training that may make my injury worse, starts calling people to get me the attention I need, and gives me her personal business card so I can contact her directly if I need to. We make small talk, I find out she actually lives in my city. Score. We finish up our business, and she looks at me and smiles, and asks if I have any other questions for her. I kind of bitched out at this point, and said "No, thank you so much for everything."

The next day, everyone is wrapping up their stations, but she's still sitting there, focused intensely on whatever she's working on. After we get released by our commander, I walk over and think of something relative to say, I can't remember exactly what it was. But we start talking again. I ask what she likes to do for fun while she's home, she says she likes to go out to the bars. Near my place. Perfect. So I ask her if I can call her at the number she gave me to get a drink next weekend. She says, "Actually, I don't know if you noticed, but, I left my personal cell on the back of that business card..."

God. Dammit.

I did indeed not notice that. I could have taken this girl out last night.

So I recover, and she asks if I'm just heading home tonight, or what my plans are. Good lord, this girl is working me now. I had checked out of my hotel that morning and was definitely intent on driving home that night, as I had work in the morning.

But dammit, the hottest girl on the floor wanted to see me tonight.

So I tell her I was planning on driving back that night, but still had a hotel room...And asked if she would like to have a drink tonight before I leave. She agrees, and we part ways. I get another hotel room, change and shower quickly, and tell her I'm ready to meet her. She gives me the address to her hotel room. Oh it is going down.

So I bring over a bottle of mead that my soldier had brewed earlier that month, it's a good conversation piece because it's unique, and plus it tastes amazing, and it's alcohol.

Long story short, we hooked up, twice that night, and once more the month after. I am still able to call her when I want to.

I don't really see her much any more, but the biggest thing I learned from this is that I was lucky. She gamed me, and if she hadn't, I would have never had that experience. Most women won't, it's our job to recognize mutual attraction (or even assume attraction, and then take charge of building it) and then make the move to get the number or the date. If you don't, most of the time, nothing will happen.

But this time, this time it did.
