Nope. You should never pretend anything, just flip the script. You didn't remember their name because they are more important to you than you are to them. You remembered it because you're a fucking rockstar who remembers everyone's name. (Which, btw, you should be.)

If I remember my name and they don't remember mine, I tell them about name mnemonics. It's a way to display intelligence and social savvy. They'll remember yours after that 100% of the time.

its not genuine tho. instead u should genuinely ask them how much sleep they got because they look tired. i do that if they dont put any effort into how they look. but they might actually be swamped with work nd stuff. in that case, tell them ur on the same boat only if its true. be genuine, ingenuinity signals manipulative intent.

Personally, I feel it's kind of mean to forget a name. Perhaps forget some other piece of information about her, not the name though.
