I would wear shoes that have some natural height to them (boots, oxfords), rather than lifts.

I'm 5'6 and I do fine, even with taller women. Just own being confident in yourself and your height, and learn how to deal with height-related shit tests.

I'm 5'8" and wear boots with 2" heels, and I think it helps. I'm taller than most girls until they put on high heels, and the boots basically even the playing field again. But it's mostly in my head - I don't like/won't approach girls who look taller than me.

I think it depends what you're looking for. If you just want SNLs from a club, probably. By the time they figure it out you already came on their tits and are done with them.

If you're looking for more, what's eventually going to happen is a girl is going to notice you lost 4" when you took your shoes off, which reeks of low self-esteem.

I just think something with a heel will do fine. And regardless, if you own it then it doesn't really matter. Tom Cruise is 5'7" and his ex Nicole Kidman is 5'11", case closed.

Yes, do this.

While some will say you should be comfortable in your own skin, the fact remains some women will screen you out if you are shorter than them - automatically. Why would you accept this handicap?
