Works if your approach is spontaneous; happen to be both at the bar for instance. Also, quickly follow through with some other statement or question, moving into a more normal conversation, for eg "How's your night going?". My 2 cents.

You can do it as a "direct approach" especially if she is alreading IOIing you, go for it.

Stop overthinking the open, walk up to her and say hi. Then let her say hi back and say that you like her x, x could be any clothing she has or item like glasses, jacket. I do this in the day, puts less stress on me to think of an opener, not sure if it'll work in clubs

Yes it will work if they are interested. I'm a woman so take my advice for what it's worth to you as a man. Sometimes a simple clever comment can start a great conversation bit it won't always lead to the sack. You have to be careful not to venture I to friend zone if you're interested.

There might be a bit of a confusion in here. I didn't mean opening her, I mean making friends in a club when you go there alone. I wouldn't really start with a complement when opening girls in night clubs, they heard it enough.
