Well from my personal exp you can't become "everyone else's level" in one day. Sad but true. i am sure that you have some hobby, talk with people who share same hobby, interest, idea, food, etc. Just practice by talking to people about anything. It can be small talk like 4 seconds or long one for 1 hour. Then take next step, GET IN SHAPE. Everyone likes person who looks good so start with running, go to the gym and ask how you can upgrade your body. And THEN Get Suit up! Buy 1 decent suit and cloth clean. It's like good body + good look 60% the person who is looking at you likes you.

Long story short keep yourself busy by those stuff and you are not in "everyone else's level", You are in "Your level".

This is me now, except I'm in my last year of college. Went to orientation yesterday and couldn't find my balls to talk to a single person. This is after a whole summer of improving myself too. I feel your pain.

Stop thinking so much and just talk. You care way too much about what others will think of you and how you will be judged based on what you say. You can literally talk about anything and its still better than standing around.

Amuse yourself. Speak because you want to have fun. Be present in the moment and really listen to what other people are saying. Take it all in; be it their body language, what kind of stories they tell, etc. Be curious about your environment and other people. Tuck your dick back into your pocket.

Plus, if you want to talk, have things to talk about. Share a cool book you read, or an activity for you all to do. Set the tone, don't just listen, actively listen.

You've heard the same shit from everyone else here before ( join clubs, talk in lines, focus on yourself etc. ) so I'm gunna reciprocate your own anger and tell it straight.

You want to be different? Act different. You wanna be social? Start talking to people. I know I'm saying it like it's easy but that's because it is. If you can talk to a brick wall you can at least talk AT another person. Any social problem you have is just a mental block created in your head. I'm still trying to get over it myself but I've already changed sooooo much my first week at Uni. Everyone has the ability to change.

I never would have posted something like this last week if I didn't.

Are you always quiet? Or are there certain situations where you are talkative? Try to figure out what makes you comfortable, and what makes you shy, then improve upon that. Some people, at first, aren't able to talk in every single situation - for me, I'm quiet in groups but decently talkative in a 1-on-1 situation. Try working on your confidence by paying more attention to yourself (food, gym, hygeine, haircut, clothes, etc). Remember, change doesn't normally happen overnight. Don't expect people to immediately stop calling you quiet; pay no attention to them, and keep on improving yourself.

One good conversation (training) exercise that I've personally found useful and fun was to ask strangers dumb questions. For example, you could ask someone what the time is (despite already knowing the time) and start a conversation that way. Another good one is "can you give me directions to Building X?". Also, a second fun exercise is saying Hi to anyone and everyone every time you step in an elevator.
