So I'm taking medical ethics this semester (I'm premed) and there are a ton of gorgeous girls taking this class with me. It's a relatively small class, 54 kids as opposed to my 480 kid orgo class. And this one girl in particular caught my eye. Now up until this point in my life I've had the lowest self esteem, go look up my posts to get a better idea of what I mean. But this semester I decided that maybe I could finally turn things around.

Last year I bought Rules of the Game by Neill Strauss. Good book on seduction, and I started reading it this semester, it has 30 challenges you're supposed to fulfill each day. I started doing it but kinda stopped, and just realized that in general I have to talk to people whenever I can. And so that's what I did. I started sitting next to the girl I had a crush on. After a couple classes I started trying to join in on her convos, and it helped. I always would see her around campus and not even know her name and then one day I saw her on my way to the gym and we talked the whole way there about classes (post linked above).

Since my last post it's been mostly the same shit, I usually sit next to her every class, and i'll make small talk from time to time, but nothing more than that (her friends are in the class with me so it makes me a little nervous to flirt). I've noticed that I make her laugh a lot and taken that as a positive sign, but still haven't known for sure if she was really into me.

Then the other day we were talking about how we didn't do the reading and how it was 20 pages and that in all likelihood we probably wouldn't end up having a quiz. Then we noticed the papers on his desk, and we exchange looks back and forth from the table to each other, both grinning because we were wrong in thinking there would be no quiz. For some reason I felt in that moment that maybe this girl was actually into me, idk what it was but just the way she looked at me gave me the idea.

So then Friday was the last day of class before the weekend, which was my best shot at asking her to study for the upcoming test. It was now or never, so going into the class I figured I'd sit next to her, make small talk and hopefully at the end of class ask her if she wanted to study this weekend and hopefully get her # and go from there.

I sat down in the seat next to where she normally sits, and just my luck this kid john in my class who i'm kinda friends with sits there and starts talking football with me. So I'm starting to get kind of pissed off in my head thinking here goes my last legit chance at getting this girl's number. She finally gets in and sits right behind me. I'm thinking all is not lost yet.

Class is about to end and I'm getting nervous thinking about what to say to her and how to say it. Eventually the lecture is over and I get up and turn to face her as I put on my backpack and jacket, and ask her if she was planning on studying for the exam anytime this weekend. She said probably and we walk out talking about the class together and she's like "hey let me give you my number so we can figure something out". And so I got her number, and we both walked all the way back to the area of campus where we both live, with me making her smile and laugh the whole way back.

I texted her Saturday seeing if she wanted to study this weekend, and she got right back to me asking if I wanted to study on Sunday. We agreed on a time and she told me to text her around then.

So Sunday (today) came and I text her to study at the time we agreed on and she asks if I wanted to meet here at the starbucks under the dining common. We get there and study from 6 til right before 9 when the Starbucks closed. We clicked so well it was such an awesome feeling. We found out so much about each other and that we had a ton of similar interests, going on about our favorite shows like True Detective and Game of Thrones for a while. I asked her if she was a fan of Donnie Darko (one of my favorite films) and she was telling me how she just saw it for the first time 3 weeks ago and she immediately looked up all the theories and plot info on it after watching it, something I did too the first time, and she said how we both need to watch it together some time.

After they closed the Starbucks she asked me if I ate dinner yet and I hadn't so we both go upstairs to the dining common and eat for a good 20-30 minutes talking about the party scene at my school, and explaining a couple fun drinking games to her (no hands flip cup and chesties). And eventually we left and said bye to each other and that we would see each other in class. And here I am now typing this all up, thinking how happy I am for going out of my comfort zone and meeting an awesome girl.
