The alternative to pick up is hoping to get lucky each weekend by standing around and hoping a girls falls onto your dick. This and meeting girls through social circles. Pretty depressing if you ask me.

Yes, you can watch naturals for months and figure out how they did it. That's how pickup started. Keep in mind that naturals usually cant explain to you why they are doing things or why they work.

It is a problem that you care what your "people" think rather than caring about pushing your limits and improving yourself.

No, nobody actually does this whole "pick-up" thing. It is all an elaborate ruse. We have all spent years maintaining this subreddit, in order to create a huge conspiracy to deceive people into thinking that there are real Pickup Artists. There are thousands of us, even hundreds of thousands of us right here in seddit, all united in creating the greatest fraud the world has ever seen.

Pickup is not 'how to scam girls into sleeping with you'. It's 'how to find girls willing to sleep with you.' Just like financial planning isn't 'how to steal millions of dollars' It's 'how to build a good portfolio of investments.'

Sure, some guys are going to try to rob and scam their way into it, but in general they crash and burn. Becoming an attractive, honest, confident fun person who people like to be around is never a bad thing. It'll do more for you and your overall happiness than the cheap alternative.

Lol of course the mainstream thinks pick up is weird. You should NOT be concerned with what they think, itll only hold you back if you do. The 'other way' to meet girls is to be passive and just hope someone in your social circle might like you. But that is lame - you won't grow as a person, and you'll miss out on the wide choice of women only available to guys who push themselves to be good with this. You want to grow as a person and meet hot girls? Then try your hand at cold approach.

Consider this a place to self-actualize while learning to interact in a way that's more in tune with the female psyche. It's basically sales, but to a specific audience (of approximately 3 billion people).

Everyone has a way, or an angle when it comes to getting girls, even if they don't think they do. Cold approach is just one of them. Here are the many angles out there:

Befriend girls, with the hope she'll see the real them and start dating them.
Hanging out in bars / clubs hoping something happens (it rarely does).
Online dating (very effective, but with limitations)
Going to meetup groups
Putting themselves in a position where girls will come to them (rockstar, diving school instructor, nightclub owner, head of a social group)
Cold approach

Many of these methods may look like part of a lifestyle, but guys will be at least partly motivated my getting girls.

One reason people think pickup is weird because it's a methodology that to some extent allows guys to 'cheat' at the dating game. Most humans are hard wired to want guys to compete fairly for women as this is most beneficial for the human race (only the best men reproduce, the best men reproduce with the best women).

Another reason people say cold approach is weird is because saying this takes the pressure off them to go out and do it. It's a case of saying, "I'm not doing that because it's weird" as opposed to, "I'm not doing that because it scares them". It's just a justification for inaction, or in game terms a meta weasel.

Decide for yourself if you want to do cold approach, don't let other people's ideas on it put you off.
