It's less awkward for them to give you their number and not respond rather than reject you right on the spot. Or they're on the fence and waiting to see what your next move will be. If they don't respond, they weren't feeling it.

You are putting the cart before the horse. Instead of getting the number and then moving on to the next girl, talk to her and build rapport and escalate. Then get the number as an afterthought.

It's a combination of things:

They don't want to hurt the guy's feelings -- at least not in person
They like the validation
They want to end the interaction as soon as possible so that they can get on with their day
Some guys are extremely persistent, and they don't want to make a scene or feel uncomfortable

Often they aren't interested but don't feel safe or social when rejecting men so they give the # rather than say no. You can often catch this earlier on when you learn to read body language well.

The reason girls flake you is because you didn't get a romantic connection BEFORE parting ways. Women live through experiences and all she remembers when you leave is that you guys "talked"

Now you think your text game is bad but it's not, she just doesn't like you. So stop trying to game the "maybe" girls over the phone, it wont work.

Think of this. Say for example you gave a 1/10 your number just out of politeness, do you really think that there is anything that she can do to you over the phone to make you wanna see her again? NO. But if it was a 9/10 and she called you, you would fall her back, why? BECAUSE YOU LIKE HER!

Don't let it get you down, buddy. People are all busy doing what they're doing and focusing and liking what they're liking at particular times. Women are fickle sometimes (i'm one of them, i know). If its meant to be, it will happen. You might want to try going for more in person interaction and texting less, since occationally people just aren't that into texting.

Try to think of disappointing stuff like this as a systems oriented not goals oriented approach. You might not get the girl, but you are improving your skills in meeting people.

Don't take it personally..as long as you're being cool and respectful its ok.

Girls get a jolt of self-esteem whenever a guy calls and/or texts them. Doesn't matter the guy. That's why a lot of fucked up women give their number to every guy they meet and then blow them off.

Getting numbers doesn't matter. What matters is establishing a connection. Once you've done that, they will call back.

Asking for number and leaving it at that is for training, its probably what we all do when we started out gaming. Seeing that you could easily score n close, you might want to shift your focus elsewhere now, probably rapport building and kinos. Level up bro!
