I second this. As a dude who used to play a lot of hockey, ice skating has been my go-to first date a few times. Like you said, its light and fun. And if you're a decent skater, it provides a good opportunity for kino. I'd prefer it or any physical activity over dinner any day.

Super jealous. Ice skating must be one of my weakest points even if I can rollerblade a bit, shit is hard not gonna lie. Any tips for just wanting to cruise? Slowing down/turning? Lol i'm trying to make this a viable date again.

There's no such thing as the perfect date. YOU make the dates perfect, not the setting.
But i have to admit, rollerskating is fun ;)

To be fair, there are some bad choices for dates (mostly first dates, though) such as going to a movie.

Yeah, traditional dates like going to a movie or theater are more detrimental to seduction, but they are in no way BAD. They just provide you with much less opportunities to show your personality and character. It just depends on your skill, if you are good, you are good anywhere.

As a guy who had a girl invite him to a roller rink for a date...
please make sure it's not an event night as this place was packed full of little squads dancing crazy well, going what seemed like warp speed all over.
I had major intimidation/fear of looking like a fool issues because i had not roller skated in 10+ years.
I ran into so many people, twisted my ankle and ended up so tired and frustrated by the end that it put me in a bad mood. It was my fault I let the situation affect me, but it was incredibly inconsiderate that she just kind of left me on me own. Not a conducive date in this scenario at all.
It's just a lot of stress/pressure/danger because she was flying all over the place and i was struggling to to roll without hard checking random innocent strangers on accident.

I'm a crappy skater. Mainly because I've only ice skated (never touched roller skates) once in my life. I'm sure my hypothetical date and I would laugh about it but would you still recommend this activity to absolute beginners like me?

I personally would say it depends on how much you will concentrate on yourself skating, and your date.
If you can only stand at the side, and when you try to roller you go into the " I must not fall mode", I personally would say no.

Yeah definitely! Especially if she's a beginner as well. Assuming you're decently coordinated you should be able to pick it up pretty quickly. Also if you're both beginners more reason to hold onto each other. Maybe go with a friend or sibling a time or two though to get a hold of it

Ice skating is way harder than roller skating. Although it could still work even if you suck at it. Either she'll be helping you, you'll be helping her or you'll both hold onto each other haha
