I've read a lot of RP posts here and on blogs about the importance of having direction and mission in your life. Looking back at my own life, I can see that this was true for me: the times when I had things I was working towards, when I was part of something, when I was striving for the stars, were I was happiest and most fulfilled.

I'm coming out of a dark period in my life, thanks in a large part to TRP. I've started exercising again, and picking up old and new hobbies. However, I've come to realise that the main thing now holding me back is a lack of directionality and purpose in my larger life.

However, I don't know how to go about finding it, or even have any idea what it should look like.

So, TRPers, what does your mission look like, and do you have any tips for a young man looking to find his own direction?

Is it best to have a mission that is tangible and achievable, like financial success, or idealistic, like living your life honestly and openly? (I'm inclined to think that first is more motivational, but I'd be interested to hear other opinions).
