Being Challenging: Not answering their questions directly. Is this necessary?

The short answer is do whatever you want. It's always about having strong frame. If shes asking you questions she is either interested in you and wants to know more about you or make conversation, in which case vibing and flirting are more important than actually answering the question. Or she's shit testing you in which case she's trying to shake your frame and see how delicate your confidence is, in which case maintaining a solid and congruent frame is more important than answering the questions. Bottom line is answering her questions is not really important.

Dodging a question isn't a terrible strategy. In fact, when done well, it creates a lot of mystery and sexual tension. But don't give ridiculous answers like "waiting for my private jet"... that's just childish.

Maybe when asked what hours you work, try saying something like "all 40 of them", and then a quick redirect.

Sometimes I flip the question back onto them, I can't think of an example right now though.

It's not necessary, but it does create some fun and light-heartedness and create a bit of a frame of "I'm not just going to tell you everything because you ask".

If she asks the same question again, that's when you answer logically and move on. And obviously don't do this for every question, or it's just forced and over-the-top.

It's basically an element of "how to flirt": "instead of answering her questions logically, playfully give an absurd answer."
