Hi. I have recently become aware of TRP but haven't taken it yet because I don't yet know what to do, I feel I need to ask Morpheus some questions first.
If you want you can skip the intro and go straight to the 'KEY POINTS/QUESTIONS', headed in bold
I'm 25 and have been voluntarily celibate for a number of reasons. 1) I don't want to get STDs; 2) I am not ready to have children; 3) I see masturbation/contraceptive sex as similar to taking drugs, that is because it is receiving the reward of pleasure from one's subconscious in response to an action which it is not designed to reward.
For the same reason I am a virgin I have also never taken drugs; don't eat junk-food; don't watch tv, nor play computer games and rarely watch movies. This is just to give you a picture of who I am to understand where I am coming from. Any habits which I have felt are not conducive towards achieving my goals, I have dropped, and any habits I have thought will be conducive towards my goals I have adopted, and I will continue to do so with the discovery of new information (includes TRP).
When I was 16 I read the books, “Think and Grow Rich” and “How to Win Friends and Influence People” (among others, but these are the most relevant here) as I wanted to be rich and successful... One thing the former book recommends is to only orgasm for health or reproductive purposes, and then to channel one’s sexual energy toward the goals one wants to achieve. I have been practising this, along with the other techniques taught in the book, and it has been working for me. In fact it’s not just that I am practising the techniques, but I have made them a part of my character. I have had one particular wealth goal which I have been working toward since I was 17 or so, which I planned to reach by age 27 and I am on track for achieving it. However, I also have had the plan that after I achieved this I would build a home, find a wife, get married and have children.
The character I have developed for myself works very well in business, and I thought it would work well too in terms of a sexual relationship. However, what I’m reading in TRP is making me question this. It’s very important I find answers now as one core technique I use to help me succeed in business etc is the channelling of sexual energy towards my goal, using a muse of ‘the essence of woman’ for inspiration, with the faith that I would find and marry a physical woman also by a certain date.
My idea has been that I would only have sex after marriage, and only non-contraceptive sex. I also thought I would have a strong emotional connection and also a strong logical connection with my wife (I imagined we would get together on the basis of rational discussion of our desires combined with romance). Beyond mutual flirting I have not had any non-platonic relations with women since I was 16, so I don’t have experience with them in terms of sex nor sexual relationships. I thought I understood women fairly well however, and I have been very confident in dealing with them, etc.
O.K. so, the reason I’m here: My understanding is that I match up with many of the TRP criteria for being an ‘alpha’ and also already understand many of the TRP revelations about women and the anti-male nature of our society, but there seem to be some criteria for being ‘alpha’ that I am missing, and also there are some things TRP says about women which are contrary to what I previously believed – and I suspect TRP may be correct here, but either way I need to figure this out.
KEY POINTS/QUESTIONS:
Here are the key points I see where I need clarification; I hope some people here will be kind enough to help me out:
1) I thought women were attracted to men they thought would be the best father. So, I thought who women were sexually attracted to would depend on what they thought were good attributes for fatherhood. So there would be a combination, I thought, of various factors which each women would weight to varying degrees based on her experiences, e.g. wealth, health/fitness/structure, toughness, morality, protectiveness, intelligence, wisdom, etc…
Whereas TRP seems to suggest – and I may be wrong -- that all women are only attracted to ‘lotharioism’.
2) Based on the same principles as point 1: That some women would be more attracted to a man who had laid many women and some women would be more attracted to a man who was a virgin (as long as this was voluntary), based on their own particular thoughts, which they may or may not be consciously aware of, on what qualities make one a good father – just as different men are attracted to different qualities in women based on their own thoughts; different people prefer different foods, etc..
TRP seems to suggest that all women are more attracted to men who have laid many women.
3) I thought many women would only want to have sex with a man who was committed to them through marriage, and then want it to be a big emotional affair, and I thought this was a result of evolution because in ancient times a woman becoming pregnant by a man who was not going to provide for her and her children would likely die along with her children.
TRP seems to suggest that all women want to masturbate and have casual sex, and just want to have sex as soon as possible with any man who is ‘alpha’.
4) I thought some women, as I do, exercise a great deal of logical control over their lives, in such a way that they actually change their character to desire different things. So, I thought some women would use this control to make themselves behave in ways they thought were most logical, which may include (depending on the goals + wisdom of the individual): only having sex inside marriage; only having non-contraceptive sex; choosing a man who had values similar to theirs; choosing a man they thought would make the best husband and father.
TRP seems to suggest that all women exercise very little logical control over their lives and therefore either: seek out the most obvious form of immediate gratification for their base emotions; or begrudgingly deny their desires until they eventually give in or not (as opposed to using their logical control to point their base desires to different outcomes, e.g. redirecting one’s desire for sugar from haribo into bananas (using logic to reshape one’s character) vs just refusing to eat sugar until one eventually breaks).
That’s all I can think of for now... Basically, I’m aware that the woman I imagined marrying is not like most women, but I am also not like most men… Don’t women have as much variation as men do? Is TRP guidance only for people who want to marry a normal woman, and want to be normal men? I don’t want to be normal, I value my high degree of logical control, and I want to marry a woman who is similar and then raise my children like that too. Even if that is the case (and please tell me if you think it isn’t), I still think I can learn some things from TRP.
5) AHH YES, THE TITLE QUESTION! So, hypothetically speaking, if I were to decide that becoming a lothario (or something closer to that than what I am now – someone who would only have sex inside marriage) was indeed the correct path for myself, how should I do that and avoid STDs? Thanks. I have other reasons for not having frequent sex, but the only real reason I have not even tried having casual sex just to experiment is because I don't want to get STDs (nor unwanted pregnancies, but I understand condoms do a good job at stopping them? Whereas I gather condoms are only ~50% effective against most STDs).
