I observe the world around me, and the one thing I've never understood is when girls say they want dating, or a relationship, to be exciting. What does that mean? I understand the idea of planning dates, going out on the town, going on trips together, going to see shows. But if they still complain after that, what are they looking for? Do they want helicopter rides? Trips to the French Riviera? Rides in a Bugatti? It seems like it.

I observe my friends who are in relationships. Invariably they go to work, go home, and sometimes on the weekends, they go to a show, or out to dinner. People constantly tell me how I'm always busy doing cool things, they never do cool things, they're always jealous, etc. Yet I've had girls tell me that they want things to be more "exciting". Even my current girlfriend - we've been together for 9 months, and pretty much every day for her consists of:

  1. Wake up
  2. Goto Work
  3. Come home feeling stressed and tired out
  4. Maybe go to yoga
  5. Maybe cook
  6. Want to goto sleep at 10/10:30

Will say, I feel like our relationship is really "normal". When I say things like "Let's go dancing, let's take lssons, let's go to this show" she says she's tired.

So what am I missing? What's this "excitement" piece? Do they want me to just plan something without consulting them? I do that sometimes, but honestly, it's so hit or miss. For example, I bought tickets to a festival this Friday, and she can't even go because she has something else to do. Last thing I want to do is sign up for some sort of expensive event, and have her say "Oh I'm not interested, or I'm too tired".
