The difference between you and the general population is that you'll critically analyze what you do and what you can improve on from all the resources you have access to via the web. It's kinda like some guitar player self-teaching for years through trial and error whilst you get a coach.

You'll advance much quicker than the natural. However, you'll eventually meet really good naturals but they're not your enemy as you can learn heaps from them too even though they usually don't consciously know what they do to attract girls.

Social skills, as many other skills have a steep learning curve that flats out gradually. A year spent on practicing social skills will probably push you further than next 9 years, assuming you know nothing or nearly nothing about it at first, but some effort into practicing it. On a sidenote, I don't think top 20% have 80% of the girls, being good at approaching lets them be more choosy.

Lets take a pause here and talk about what efforts you have actually put into developing your game. What habits do you have(hobbies,regular approaches)? Do you always put off approaches waiting for ideal moments? Why is your game not to the standard you desire. In your own sentence you said what you lacked was experience. So do you approach , Do you show sexual intent , do you calibrate.

My main tip based on what you just wrote suggests your comparing yourselves with others when instead you should only be competing with yourself. Maybe you can even use your pessimism to become outcome independent have fun enjoy life , value your actions only focus on the process rather than the results. What your basically saying is I can't bench a 100kg like the other guys in the gym they been training there whole life, well maybe you should start training. It doesn't take that long to "catch up" if you consistently practice by going out every day and doing your approaches at night venues and doing daygame as well.

You'll accelerate your progress even more by losing your ego. Most guys won't ever lose their ego, and most won't ever have the balls to cold approach women without alcohol in their system.

Do what most guys aren't doing. Approach women in the grocery store, approach them on the street, approach them at Wal-Mart (lol), approach them anywhere and everywhere. The only time I ever see other guys approach women is at night venues, probably after they had a few drinks.

Accept the fact that 90% of men or more will NOT approach women. They rely on their friends introducing them, social circles, or online dating. Most of the top 20% of guys actually don't cold approach women, they typically meet women through online or social circles (the online part is mostly based on their good looks and conveying their fun lifestyle).

If you go out at night and during the day to cold approach women, and practice consistently, getting the referrence experiences you need, consulting with the "experts" on online forums to help tackle your sticking points so you can improve, then you'll be in the top 2% or 3% if you stick with it for over a year.

And I'm not joking, if you actually practice consistently, and seek advice to tackle any sticking points you come across, and continually work toward improving your skills, while also working to eliminate your ego, then you can get extremely good very fast.

It doesn't need to take 5 or 10 years to "catch up", you get can be in the top 3% in a year. Most guys will never do this. Most guys who get involved in "pick up" will try it a few times, maybe stick with it for a few weeks or a few months at most, and they either find a GF and settle down, or they encountered too many sticking points and gave up.

You can be a cut above the rest just by going out consistently and sticking with it for a year or more.

They had to learn through trial and error, you still need to use trial and error to some extent, but if you follow Pua teachings you get a head start due to benefiting from the knowledge that took other puas years to obtain.

I started at 27 and was doing well with girls by the time I was 30.

I think your view is too black/white. There's other things to take into account such as:

*Location - A guy in a larger, more liberal city with a big nightlife scene or a major college will just have more access to lots of women than a guy in a smaller, more conservative town, and women will be more cool with hooking up.

*Time investment - In truth the image of some guy being such as "sophisticated player" that he can just walk up to any woman and pick her up is somewhat mythical.

In reality unless a guy is willing to spend tons of free time hanging out at bars, clubs, going to parties, etc then it's pretty unrealistic to think if he just "improves his game" he'll be able to pull any woman from a cold approach. For example, at parties where people know each other a little, I've used virtually no game but managed to get laid easily. And when I was younger I briefly worked at a restaurant where younger women hung out and were into me, even though if I'd approached them at random they probably would have rejected me simply due to not knowing me, even if I'd used "great game".

Plus some guys have other hobbies not centered around just "picking up chicks", and idea of devaluing any hobby or personal goal which isn't centered around sex with women seems unhealthy to me.

*Social/work circle - Some people's social circles or line of work just give them more access to women than others; a guy who's a club promoter for example will probably just have more daily access to pussy than a guy who works in... the oil fields.

-Looks/fame. I don't believe looks are everything, but I do believe they play a role especially in cold approaches such as a bar - when a woman is looking for a 1-night-stand or hook up then vapid things like "looks" probably just play a bigger role, even if she'd be down with dating a less good lookiing guy in real life.

Things like "fame/popularity" also likely just inevitably play a role. A person perceived as a "celebrity" or "star" instantly is perceived as more attractive than they'd be if they were a "normal person" even if they act the same way.

Justin Bieber comes to mind for example - If he wasn't "famous" and didn't perform at shows where 1000s of young women show up, he would not be thought of as some epitome of machismo. He'd just be a fairly average, slightly-good looking guy, and the reason he's "swimming in pussy" is more because women are in love with his manufactured "famous" persona, than the guy himself if they might him at a bar.

Another example off the top of my head is Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue - women were in love with his "bad boy" persona when he was in the band, but I've heard the guy on radio shows and his actual personality comes across as very "beta" and dorky - I honestly have a feeling that if he wasn't "famous" he'd be perceived as a geek based on his personality alone.

My personal rule on "game" is something of the opposite - you only need 20% for 80% of situations.

A guy who's a complete social retard, doesn't bother to stay in shape or use hygiene, etc is obviously going to need some help, but beyond a basic level "game" won't likely offer much ROI.

Other things such as simply being in places where it's easy to access women will probably play a bigger role. If I were you I'd focus on factors, such as having more social hobbies where you can naturally meet women versus having to solely rely on cold pickup, as well as having some hobbies or goals in your life you truly enjoy, rather than just as a "means to and end to get pussy" - since if the latter becomes the case then you'll end up depending on women for your validation as a man, and this could influence you into acting less natural and confident around them.
