How do I greet somebody on a first date I've never previously met?

That's the only part of a date I can imagine myself doing well! I'd just give them a big hug!

But after that, i'm not sure what I'd ever say. Like ask how there day has been? What are like, the first 5 questions you guys who are good on dates ask!!

(all assuming like a tinder date or something, btw. Never met)

They are an alien concept to me! How to make them fun and joke around instead of like a weird job interview!!??

Always go for the hug.

Here are things I've said before upon first meeting a girl.

"Do you! pregnant pause accept hugs from creepsters with good hair?" (insert something you like about yourself in place of hair. EX: Do you! accept hugs from creepsters with massive pokemon collections. Like just the best mother fucking pokemons.)

"I find first dates awkward in a couple of places. 1) Do you hug/shake or ignore? I want to hug soo bad. hugging is the right answer isn't it?!" After hug "Alright now that that's resolved 2) How do we split the check? I want to pay for you -- but my reading of Andrea Dworkin makes me think that's just not feminist. Can I pay for you - and still respect you in the morning? I think I can! But I want a second opinion before I try."

"Are you a huger? How do you feel about proposition consensual bear hugs?" After she said yes. "I don't want you to take that the wrong way, I'm like a professional huger. I want to hug everybody. 99 out of 100 times the girl is going to say yes 80 out of 100 she's going to genuinely want the hug. 1 out of 100ish I meet a girl who doesn't like to be touched - period.

In that one instance - "That's totally cool. Glad I'm the sort of guy who asks first. I actually have some friends are the same way. And you know -- I love hugs -- my mom was a great hug person -- but every once in a while -- I'm just not feeling it. And like - a surprise hug at the wrong time can really bring you down. At the right time it can make my day too -- but bottom line, a little bit I get where you're coming from."

About a year ago I convinced a friend that he needs to hug when he first meets a girl he swears by it. And meets every girl with a hug now.

This is his line almost 100% of the time.
