This has happened a bunch of times to me- I'm having a nice conversation with a girl and go for the number, and she says the dreaded words- "I have a boyfriend". I usually say something like "That's okay, I'm not the jealous type" or something along the lines of what the "shit test" thread on the sidebar says, but the girl ends up insisting that he is real and that she can show me photos to prove it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like this is said by the girl in order to convey a sort of validation or apology, as though she would be down or is actually interested in me, but unfortunately already has someone else

Do you think the girls are lying most of the time when they claim to have someone else? Do girls normally say this in order to not reject openly? How do you get past this (again, I've tried saying the line that's suggested by the "shit test" sidebar, but it usually doesn't work and the girl insists that she does, in fact, have a boyfriend)? Someone on one of my previous posts said that I should ask about how the girl and her boyfriend met and make the girl a friend, but I feel like I need to learn how to get past it if they are, in fact, lying about their "boyfriend" (if that makes any sense).

Thanks!

EDIT I'm mainly just talking about it in the context of this conversation, I thought I kept up the attraction in this interaction so I'm just seeing if she was lying or if I did something wrong that could have prompted it: https://www.reddit.com/r/seduction/comments/5hhn0x/infield_report_mall_pickup_critiques_appreciated/
