When class is over. Ask her what she's doing afterwards and try to forward it into an instant date. Or if she's busy walk with her a bit and ask for her phone number when she has to go.

Hey brother, I'm in the exact same situation as you are, I tried doing it after class but the only thing holding me back is the fact that when we end class, every student basically walks out through the same direction and will literally hear everything and I find that kind of awkward.

Just chill outside the class on your phone before a test or some shit. She passes by, be like "are you ready for the test?" And start a conversation from there. Then after class, or if the teacher lets everyon move around and talk after the test, go talk to her and ask her how she did, what grade she has, if she thinks the class is hard, if she likes the teacher. Then ask for her snapchat (what kind of person in school doesn't have a snapchat wtf). Then, when the teacher announces another test, go up to her and ask again if she's ready. If she says no, say "do you wanna study together?". If she says yes say "luckyy i tried studying but I just don't get it. Can we study together?"

It's so easy

Plus, since you're at school, you don't need to have hour long conversation. You can have a quick 2 minute chat then say you gotta get to class

It's only been 2 weeks though so I don't know if it would be weird if I just took the guy's seat.

You seem fixated on this seat. Why? Does something keep you from simply walking up to her before or after class and TALKING to her?

And who gives a fuck if that guy is there? Talk to him too. In fact, you shouldn't be sitting there in class, not talking to anyone. You ought to be talking to PEOPLE in class. Comment and ask questions to classmates. Organize a study group. Don't just sit back and waste your time thinking about one girl.

Dude. Stop looking for signs. Start getting in there and interacting with her. You're spending all this time thinking and not DOING. That seems to be the problem here.

Or that you only THOUGHT about talking to her but didn't because you decided she was walking in the opposite direction?

Seems to me that you are misrepresenting this to us and yourself. You probably didn't really try to talk to her.

And what's so vital about the direction you chose, anyway? Are you on a strict schedule? It doesn't seem like it would kill you to walk up to her and talk about class or something that happened in class.

Appreciate the advice so far guys. The thing is I know what to say, and I'm pretty sure she wants to talk to me. I'm just trying to figure out how to find an opening where I can talk with her long enough to make her comfortable with me so I can get the number. The way I see it, I either A) follow her next time class gets out (kinda creepy), or B) say fuck it and sit next to her, or sit in her seat so she sits next to me.

Make up an excuse for why you need to go in her direction. Maybe say you have to see your advisor or you need a quick bite to eat before your next class because you skipped breakfast.
