Hi all, I am in England. Wondering if anyone has gone through this situation and has any suggestions.

Ex and I separated 10 months ago. She lived in the family home and I moved out. The financial order is in place now as part of which, the family home was transferred to me and I bought my ex’s share with a lumpsum. Property name transfer has completed.

Per the financial order, ex will live in the family home on license until June 2024 and will pay monthly rent to me until then.

Problem is that she is not letting me access my post or other belongings which are in the family home. For example, the remortgage documents etc were sent to the family home and despite multiple requests, she refuses to hand them over to me. Or the bank passwords which I need to create online accounts. Or the motorbike which is parked in the family home needs servicing but I can’t access it. Remortgage and name transfer could only be done if my residential address was the same as the family home.

What are my rights in this situation? Surely landlords can access the property with due notice etc. Can that apply in my case? I don’t want to have anything to do with her but I am missing out on a lot of important things by not being able to access my own stuff in the family home.

Any thoughts/advice please?
