In the past couple months I've ramped up my focus on game and approaching, which has in turn increased my desire for a girlfriend, and in turn increased my feelings of anxiety and fear of not having/finding a girlfriend. I've had trouble sleeping, remaining present and the whole approaching thing feels like a heavy burden. When I wake up, my first thought is - am I going to approach today? Or will I let another opportunity slip by? I worry before I even start to do anything.

Reflecting on this a bit, I realized most of my fear and anxiety stems from my difficulty in accepting my singleness/loneliness. And so I suppose I'm trying to reach this sort of balance in which I desire something, but am also ok without it. It's not easy.

Is this consistent with everyone's experiences? I get that pain and discomfort are a necessary part to growth, but is anxiety and worry?

How can we go through this process with the least amount of suffering? The whole trying to find a mate thing is taking up so much of my thought and causing so much anxiety that I begin to wonder if I am doing this right, that there must be a smarter way to grow.
