The single most important rule is the rule of fungi-ability. There's nothing you can get from one that you can't get from another one. Approach one. If you get shot down, approach another one. There are LITERALLY millions of them.

This leads to confidence, abundance mentality, and outcome independence. You do not CARE if you get rejected, because it's not the last approach that matters, it's the next one.

You are a classic beta from what you've said.

The most important thing here based on your anecdote is that you don't respect yourself enough to be respected. You have to own the fact that you are the most important person in your relationships. And you don't have to be a conceited prick to attain this; you have to make yourself into person that would never change for a woman, because that's what they want.

I can't sugar coat this: you have to have a paradigm shift - white knight shit has to go away almost completely. And the only bit that's left is standing up when actual abuse occurs, and even then you should always ask yourself whether it's worth it to bother with your valuable time. Orbiter shit? Never again, my friend. If you orbit, you are wasting the only life you have on a chance for someone who has already made it clear that she would be settling for you if you ever were chosen.

You sound like the type of guy who puts a pussy on a pedestal. If you do this, you will get oneitis and you will orbit. Just train yourself to recognize when you are emotionally investing yourself for no reason other than your own imagination/fantasy. Women are nice, but they're not what defines you (anymore). Your RP life is about you and becoming the best version of yourself. Never stop learning and growing, and freeing yourself from this egalitarian notion that women are prized posessions to be won over is part of the bitterness.

There's plenty of examples of how to act around women. Once you have the confidence, the maxed SMV, and the fitness, there are just as many ways to fail as there are to succeed. Check out the Field Reports and take notes. Find which approaches you are most comfortable with. (You probably aren't such a good actor right now that you can just adopt a persona, so stick with what you're good at, or they will sense your discomfort). Prepare for failure and a lot of it. Never be afraid to walk away and never speak to a girl again.

Once you sharpen a few tools, you have to go out and use them to develop your skills. No one here gets it right the first time, and you will always make mistakes. Master your emotions and always look for opportunities to improve.

Start here and look for the high voted posts, they are usually the most entertaining and will reinforce what to look for when you get one to bite and what to do next.

You're not losing your self. You're improving your self. You will change some outward appearances. You will change the way you communicate. That does not mean you are losing or destroying whatever it is that you are.

TRP may challenge some of your core beliefs. That is called learning. This may feel difficult. You may be cynical about these thoughts. Give them their due time before you brigade on some cause.

TRP is about maintaining your mind and body. Exercise or lift. Then hear what TRP has to say. The posts and sidebar are not dogma. They are not law. They are methods to challenge yourself because these tools have been helpful to other men. It can allow you to develop your voice into one that is worth listening to, whether the audience is male or female.

My problem I think is, I try to show I care about someone by helping them. Need a favour? I'm on it. Be it friends, or potential girl friends I'm giving to the point of excess.

I used to be like this. I kind of still am, but now I only do it for those who are worth my time and CLEARLY appreciate it and are thankful for it (like my parents or really good friends, sometimes my siblings), and instantly and completely stop regardless of progress once they turn sour or entitled.

This isn't a bad quality, but SAVE IT FOR THOSE WHO EARN IT.
