If you are talking about the shit you see on those youtube where you hang around the student union, rush up to a random girl and start with the "I know this is random, but...." shit, then yes it is horrible way to go about getting girls.

But if you are talking about where you go about your day and naturally, casually talk with girls with whom you cross paths, mention a party or such, then that is the way the college world works.

You can't be the dude who is spam approaching every girl that walks by the student union because people take the same way between classes virtually every day and you will get a label...college are a small community...even the 60 thousand student public ones.

it depends on what your usual routine is, if it's something that's high risk and has a high chance of backfiring then definitely don't do it but if it's not then it's fine

if you're going to do something hyper direct and forward like open with a hug or an ass grab/smack or a catcall ("hey mami how you doin'!") or a horse whistle then don't do it! ditto if you're planning to open with a strong neg

those things all have a high chance of pissing her off and getting her to talk shit about you or report you or make a scene and all of those would be very bad for you

but then again some colleges have gigantic multi-square mile campuses with 40,000 students so your odds of never facing repercussions would be high

now if you're planning something safe and benign that runs zero risk of being pepper sprayed then go for it (it can be direct or very forward without being that kind of risky)

All game is better in college. Nightgame at parties is better, cold approach during day is better, and social circle is better. It's a bunch of horny young adults collected in one place, they all wanna get laid.

Social circle is by far the most powerful, since if you can get in a frat or a big circle where you have a lot of social proof, you have this giant pool of girls that will want to be a part of that. Girls will wave hi in the halls for you if you're popular enough.

Cold approach is better since you have common subjects to lean back on, and most if not all college girls will be alright with being approached. I'd say to go indirect for the majority though. Feel out if they have a boyfriend or would be interested (the two are not mutually exclusive) during platonic conversation, then shift to actual game. That way the girls that would reject you only see you as a friendly guy since you can leave the convo before polarizing. The most important thing you can do in college is talk to everybody, so indirect game naturally fits in with that

Why can't you be direct? "Wow you're cute" is the most innocent, direct approach ever. And you guys go to the same college, it's like you're already best friends.
