Like a lot of you I strive to make girls laugh. I mean what guy doesn't; it's one of the non-superficial qualities that girls possess that's hard to resist at pretty much any time (unless they have an annoying laugh).

However, this leads to a pretty bad quality from guys who seek to make the girl laugh by 'overdoing' their comedy and running the thread too thin.

I know for a fact I've been that guy who keeps firing off-kilter joke after off-kilter joke, digging my hole ever deeper. Granted, you dust yourself off and learn for the next time, much like professional comedians, and try again at the next outing.

I would say when I make people laugh the most is when I'm trying to be as serious as I can. I don't know why, it's just my persona, I guess. I've run my mouth a few times a bit too much to know it's something I have to work on, as well as seen people who REALLY go overboard and don't even realize they're that bad, or maybe they do and just want to be as annoying as possible.

Either way, just wanted to hear some output from people here. I think the people that are truly, straight-faced-breaking funny are the ones who are in total control of their words/confidence in that moment. What do you guys think?
