It’s all about confidence. I am new to this sub, but reading through the comments a lot of the regulars give some really weird, rapey advice. You can take my advice how u want it because I’m currently going through divorce and staring down the barrel of a world of rejection, but I have always done pretty alright with girls. I’m no guru, but here is my general advice.

1: be confident in yourself. You are a worthy person, your interests ARE interesting (and if you talk about them and get excited, so will other people.)

2: complimenting people is hard, people like me (and you apparently) have to learn how to do it. A good compliment is: a) observant, the less obvious it is the better. Cute smile is a lowball, but saying something like “you have really pretty eyes” or hair or something you have to look a little closer to notice is a little more meaningful. b) a good compliment is not a means to an ends, you compliment someone to make them smile, and making people smile is awesome, that’s it. You say “you have a really sweet smile” she smiles and you gtfo. c) a good compliment is not a conversation, or a conversation starter. Just give the compliment and stop, don’t tell her you come to the restaurant once a week because of her smile, you go there because Poké is objectively delicious, and you would go there if Shrek was the server. d) most importantly to get good at giving compliments you have to give them regularly. Practice, when you are interacting with someone new, look for something about them that you like and comment on it. The more you do it the easier it is.

Yikes, go easy on yourself mate. If it's your first time doing something like this, it's the effort that's the victory.

PS: you know how shitty and awkward you feel inside? Do this 10-20 more times and you NEVER feel that way again. Once you are used to the thing you fear most, what can hurt you?

If a woman I approached stopped me and said "ew, you're ugly and creepy, get away from me" and then ran into a helicopter and flew away, I would laugh my ass off. I mean it never ever happens, but with the inevitable awkward scenario here and there, you get stronger every time. No exceptions. Next time this happens you won't feel as bad, you've already felt the jitters. 3rd time will be even easier. At some point you stop caring. And usually when you stop caring, you stop acting nervous and you stop botching them anyway.

Every once in a while I totally botch it, but it doesn't hurt me at all after. I just think, wtf was that?? Then it's on me to take in the feedback and adjust for the future.

If I had a dollar for every awkward moment I had with a girl I'd be a rich man. Anyway dude it's live and learn. Think of talking to girls like giving a speech in front of 30 or 40 people. At first YOU SUCK, but with more experience and practice the less you freak out, you freaked out because you don't do this often and that's okay, keep at it. And even after 50 speeches you still get nervous but you're experienced and know how to garner the nervousness and focus on the task at hand.

Anyway keep frequenting this sub, and learn tips on how to approach and how to carry yourself around girls and above all PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!

The more you just talk to girls the easier it is. The key to seduction is carrying yourself in a very confident way and acting nervous and changing how you act will not get you girls. The best player talks to girls in the very same way they'd talk to their best friend. That's why you hear the term just be yourself, you see when you approached that girl you weren't yourself, you were nervous, trying too hard, trying to impress, whatever. don't just approach as if you're approaching a good friend, bullshit as if you're bullshitting a good friend.

I know it's easier said than done and I know it's hard but with time and practice you'll get better. Next time you go to the restaurant act like nothing happened smile and be out going don't act timid and embarrassed. Always let go of the past it's irrelevant, work on only what you can control... The present

Hell, I did this myself at a Denny's just last night.

Chick that was cashing us out was a bit older then me (I'm mid 20's and she looked to be early/mid 30's)

Wasn't even planning on chatting her up, but I was making small talk while she was cashing us all out and mentioned a waitress that was still working there that we always had when in HS and that she was awesome.

Chick looked at me and replied with "When you were in high school, like what last week?" Caught me so off guard I just replied with "Yeah, I graduated yesterday actually"

I excpeted her to just go "Haha yeah, shes been here awhile" and leave it at that so I kinda drew a blank post that.

Ultimately, it happens. As soon as I recognized the situation as one I could escalate the conversation some etc I immediately put pressure on myself to do so and over thought it. Don't worry about it dude, just give it another go!
