You should ask yourself if and how you would benefit from changing your behaviour and if there are any reasons at all for changing it.

Personally, I like observing people and learning from them much more, than changing anything, unless I feel the need to, see where I am getting with it and have a plan.

Heh - it should be a Redpill maxim: The Boss gets to be the Alpha, for the Hand That Signs the Checks is In Charge.

I've got a bud who is a natural alpha with impulse control problems. Can't keep a job more than 18 months. Because sooner or later he gets into a pissing match with his boss.

There's no "win" in that.

Work on yourself. If he's got good frame control, watch him and learn from it. It will help you anticipate what he wants, and get better performance reviews.

"Frame control" is something that you should do naturally as a leader, they literally train you for that shit if you take good leadership courses. The fact that he's your boss and he does this just means that he's at least decent at his job.

Are you trying to sleep with him or something? If not, then continue with whatever adjustments you're making on your own and don't worry about it.

I think your attitude going in to it is wrong. You're asking yourself if/how you should change to better adapt to your boss.

Why should you change yourself just to serve one person? Sure, he's your boss, and you should respect him, but you don't need to be a slave to him. Be your own person. Change your attitude because you want to improve yourself. As one of the other commenters touched on, it would probably be better to watch and learn from him, and change for yourself.
