I find myself always getting stuck on what topics to talk about. It’s because of all the RSD advice on push/pull, direct, indirect, setting your intentions and on and on. It’s too hard to remember everything.

I feel like the biggest rule holding me back is that of “don’t make small talk, they know what you want.” Or “don’t offer to hangout and do this - be honest that you want to hangout because you’re sexually interested.”

These beliefs lead me into unnatural conversations. My instincts tell me to just do me and invite them to hangout...not make a big deal out of it or say “you’re attractive” or something.

I was about to approach this chick, was going to ask what song she was playing on guitar and that I liked her voice then go into small talk with some push/pull flirting which is my default, but then I was like “wait, all these rules” and starting thinking way too much.

Edit: thanks for the great advice.

I think I’ve figured out my issue...I used to suck up to hot girls, putting on a nice act, asking stupid questions, basically being a beta.

I’ve gotten over that, but it’s left me with the scar of “don’t be too nice/show interest to chicks. What I didn’t realize was that niceness had nothing t do with my rejection before. It was the underlying needy vibe. I wasn’t a man on a mission who felt in control of my destiny. I didn’t have that enthusiastic, amused, non needy feeling.

So the niceness was actually necessary to build comfort and connection. It was the neediness underneath that killed it for me.

Someone mentioned boundaries, but I can’t find their comment. It seems like that’s the key - showing girls through your behavior that you have boundaries. To me this is kind of the same thing as not giving off a needy vibe.

Do you guys with boundaries have specific boundaries you know by heart, or is the whole boundaries thing more of a mentality of standards?
