It’s not you. Dating apps are always going to be tough since the barrier for entry is so low. If I were you I wouldn’t use apps as my main source for meeting women.

I think thats just the way online dating goes. if you truly think about how much matches girls get, and for you to be able to go out w 2 out of 10 matches that you get, those are some decent numbers.

I bet you would get wayyy more positive responses if you gamed irl than online

That's just how dating apps work. If you get responses on 10+% and go on dates with some then you're doing it pretty well.

Nothing you do can make 100% reply, half of people on their just swipe it out of boredom and wouldn't go on a date no matter what was said. But that doesn't matter because you don't need 100% to reply, you just need to send enough messages that you are getting dates.

This shouldn't be an issue. Apps of any kind, dating apps or social media platforms, are only ever best used to supplement real world interactions and social activities that you are involved in.

If you're investing enough time to be concerned that you're being read but not replied to, then you're spending too much time.

Hi, M27 here, the question is more specifically about dating apps. So I would often try to be original (not just say "hello gorgeous" ), and genuine. If I like a girl, I would take a better look at her profile, and try to make a simple observation trough a joke, or a compliment.

Sure, this isn't a bad approach. The problem is with the platform.

I understand that girls have abundance of choice, but perhaps there is something I do wrong....

Here's the thing, all these dating apps have gone through a boom & bust period, and they're busted hard at the moment in many places.

At first, they were this novel thing. No one had ever seen them before and they provide easy access to interactions with people. The savvy guys moved in on these apps first, and they knew what they were doing. They didn't open in cringe-worthy fashion and they got to the point within a few messages, to set up a meet and the whole situation was new and cool so a lot of women went with it.

Then the desperate guys, the less savvy guys hit the scene. They flooded each dating app in succession, after word spread out an app and it got popular. Soon women's inboxes were flooded with unsolicited dick pics and guys who opened by trying to close the girl on sex immediately.

So now dating apps are ridiculous. Most girls, understandably, don't want to put up with the onslaught, unless they are really insecure and get off on the cheap and easy validation they get from guys making any sort of advance towards them (even if they don't have the slightest desire to meet them). So if you're sending a message to a girl, rest assured, it's going to be lost in most inboxes, among a sea of dick pics and WANNAFUQ messages.

Being thoughtful might work, if the timing is right and someone happens to catch that message. But it's not something you have any real control over.

The answer here is to give up on dating apps as a primary source of social activity. Get out and focus more on real world interactions, if you're not already.
