Hey, I totally get you. I'm in a similar boat.

I think you just have to make a mantra or something and just prepare for there to always be an expectation date. I know you know why they are ending but it still sucks when they do.

I treat every date like it's my last so that if it is I had a good time. It's a work in progress though.

Hi OP!

I did the exact same thing some years ago. I was coming from 2 serious relationships, one after the other and I didnt want a serious relationship for some time.

When things like you mentioned happened, somehow in my mind I was always the one not wanting it, so it never took a shot on my confidence. I never took it as a rejection because I was actually the one rejecting the girls. Usually some time after going out I just told them "If you find a guy for a serious relationship, just tell me, I'll understand". Two of them talked to me about it and we just moved forward. One of them kept going out with me for as long as 5 months, then she moved from the city. All of them are still good friends to me.

What I'm saying is that you shouldn't feel rejected because thats not at all what is happening. Think about it this way, If you wanted to be in a serious relationship with them, then they never would find another person. They did because you told you are not available, which is great and honest! They didn't do it because you are not worth it. Actually if they stay for sometime even after you told them it's immediately a win situation.
