I've never used one but I think the benifitb of the ones who know what they are doing are they can help you with your specific situation. You'll probably figure it out faster with a mentor. You're basically paying for accountability.

This is like asking "Do all martial arts instructors work?" or "Do basketball coaches work?" or "Do business coaches work?"

Anyone with half a brain would respond by saying, "It depends on the coach."

Like every other field on earth, there are people who are shit at what they do and there are people who are amazing at what they do.

Don't judge someone based on what category you can put them in, judge them by their individual merit. If you encounter a coach and he resonates with you, look into him more, pay more attention to the stuff he talks about, maybe try some of his suggestions, and from there figure out for yourself whether that individual will be able to help you as your coach or not.

They work because you're forced to go out and practice talking to women, which most people can't force themselves to do.

The most important thing that works is building experience. If you can go out and talk to women weekly, you're on the right track.

Probably a cheaper alternative to getting coached is to meet up with fellow pua's in the area (which you meet through your local forums).

If you're below a certain level of attractiveness , its only effective if you already have a thriving social life and/or money. I actually went to a a free RSD seminar hosted by Owen. He's a legit dude and, despite being a balding ginger, he has immense presence. However, he only took off after the social proof was in place. You can get hours and hours of info from him for free by just searching him on youtube.

It depends....

You need to pick a coach you want to emulate and fits with your personality. I did actually do a few programs and infields with a coach. However I picked him cause I felt we had very similar stores and he had a style I wanted to emulate.

If you watch PUA artists enough you're get an idea of their style and methods and you can make a better decision on which one to pick if you're ready. I can say I really enjoyed my coach cause he really pushed and had we gelled pretty well.

I will tell you that PUA does have a few blindspots like relationship management. PUA does wonders for dealing with approach anxiety and shyness but it's never really stressed actually keeping the women. You will need to look to other coaches who provide that for you.

No dont waste your money. All the info is out there in spade for free. There are some books worth picking up but those won't cost you much. Pua coaches prey on desperate men who have too much money.
