I made a thread here saying how I hate going on dates, but I went on one yesterday and we had a blast and my mindset is slowly changing, however now I realize the one thing that makes it hard for me to go is the hit-or-miss aspect of it, as a lot of girls (and guys) are just incapable of conversation it seems. I've had dates where I ask them something about themselves, and they'll respond and just stare at me. Like, maybe, I don't know, ask me the same question in return? I don't understand how it's difficult and if someone can explain it please do, ANYWAY..

What do you guys do to REALLY break the ice on a date? My tactic is walk up to them, give them a nice hug and lead them to the table, then I ask how their day went and they either tell me a story or just say "oh good wbu", but since this very basic conversation can either turn into something or not, I was looking for better, not cringy crazy ways to do it (yeah I'm looking at the cringy "BE AN ALPHA, SET A TIME, PLACE, BE THERE OR BE SQUARE" guys. And coaches, fuck coaches lmao come at me)

So yeah, what do you guys do in the beginning of a date to really get the ball rolling?
