Just approached a girl after telling myself I'd do it all day and I may have been turned down but I've gained a valuable experience.

I'll be the first to say that accepting the possibility I might be rejected was my biggest hurdle. I used to compare getting turned down to losing a game and no one likes to lose but not after today.

I walked up

Me: Excuse me, whats your name?

Her: My names Brianna, what's up? (We shake hands)

Me: Well, I've seen you around and thought you were cute. I was wondering if I could have your number and we can hangout some time?

At this point she's smiling and she looks legitimately happy that I approached her but declares that she has a boyfriend.

I honestly never expected it to turn out that way. Her expression and reaction to me asking for her number actually calmed my nerves and made me a bit happy. Once we ended the conversation and I walked away I asked myself "What am I afraid of?" The answer is "There was nothing to be afraid of." My confidence is at an all time high right now and its thanks to you Seddit.

Don't be afraid to approach guys! A rejection can still be a positive!
