if it helps you, why not gain some weight? I put myself on a hypercaloric diet since a couple of months, gained 3 kilos so far and am very happy about the progress. I like muscles but women often like some fat on a man, and I had some unexpected but welcomed side effects (I feel more resistant to cold, my mood improved somewhat, and such).

No man. Your are wrong. Looks can only boost your confidence just a little. The most important factor is your experience. The MORE experience you have in particular field, the more confident you are in that field.
