So people like to comment how this sub is cringy or it should burn or whatever. Why are you still subbed though? Your TLDR sums shit up perfectly, you need both inner game and actual conversation skill. But I'm guessing people who don't practice the conversational side tends to think it's some sort of evil manipulation

I think this is a more generalized way of seeing it:

One group are people who just needed to sell themselves better. Be a little more confident or outgoing and they'll find success. A diamond in the rough.

But the second group need wholesale inner game structuring from A-Z to get that same success. They need step by step details. Bullet point social skills laid out like a formula. Tactics and strategies. Because they honestly don't know or have completely wrong idea of how things work and need that rigorous structure.

Most people who heavily criticize game as bullshit and struggle at it are people who are mismatched with their strategy. If you're a guy in group A trying group B's social tactics, they won't work. And if you're group B and just try to be more confident, it won't really work well either.

There's also a mismatch in goals too - PU game strategy is for banging a lot of chicks from nightclubs and similar venues. Talking about banging 2 new girls a week sort of thing. If your goal is less then that, like social circle game or maybe 1 new girl a month or less, then PU strategy will probably fuck you up.

There is a third camp which is those that are confident but also tend to struggle being understood. Usually this is the camp the nerds that are nerds because of a knowledge or vocabulary gap that keeps betraying them fall into. In the above case more confidence magnifies the problem since they need to filter out information not take in more and they need to master filtering of information based on there audience before being outgoing solves there issue. As a nerd myself for this exact reason I can state from my personal experience I doubled my success rate by avoiding words like contingent or nuance. So this class of person definitely exists and way more advice needs to be given for them it took myself 2+ years to even learn that the fact my vocabulary outclassed most of society was the issue. I am not being stuck up either when everyone you hang out with enjoys learning and has an outlandish vocabulary as well it should be expected your social game around people not in that subculture will be bad. I should also note that I referenced an entire subculture that can keep up which implies everyone in that subculture will share this same issue.

I think camp A needs to analyze why they're getting bad responses.

And camp B might need to work on their mentality (feeling calmer etc. - often called inner game) as much as what I think you suggest (learning and internalizing specific advice for navigating scenarios).

While I agree with a LOT of what you're saying here, both this post and the other post you're referring to, are breaking Rule 4, specifically the Keep It Civil part.

We can have discussions about these things without having flame wars. The point of this sub is right over there: We're figuring out stuff about dating.

This isn't the "Why the fuck are you here?" discussion forum.

It's not the, "This community fucked me up because I failed to read and follow advice," discussion forum, either.

The solution for both camps is to work on yourself to be a better person though. Camp A people just need to become more interesting and comfortable holding a conversation and Camp B people need to become more confident. Working on yourself and being a better person solves both those problems. Also you’ve just convinced me to unsubscribe so congrats!
