Since I haven’t been out in nightlife in almost a year, I finally said enough is enough. I have no friends to go out with though. So I can’t go right? Nope. Let me give you a bit of background before I share my night.

Background: im a 6ft tall white guy with a slim toned build. With that, I have a slightly above average face. Appearance wise, I’m about a 7. However, my confidence for most of my life has been shit. Only in the past few months is when I’ve gained the balls to show direct interest to women. However, with me not going out EVER, my options have been limited. Since I love electronic music, I thought I should go to this local event tonight alone.

Summary-

Driving there, I had these butterflies in my stomach. I was nervous about being judged and having an awkward time. But I remember Gandalf in LOTR: Return of the King, he had a quote that stuck in my brain. I thought about it from time to time when I got too into my head.

“You are soldiers of Gondor... no matter what comes through those gates you will stand your ground.”

Nobody can hurt me. Girls can tell me to fuck off or completely ignore me, but I’m still my badass self either way. So with that quote in mind, I started to roll the ball at this edm event.

I talked to everyone. I talked to bros first for the most part. But then I started to approach a girl here and there. I approached maybe 4-5 girls that night and talked with way more overall. Out of the 5 approaches, about 80% were receptive and friendly. Most of these convos I had to start and carry myself. But I couldn’t believe what I did with the last girl I approached.

So I’m dancing by myself, when I notice this skinnier girl standing right next to me. She had a cool hat so I thought I should tell her. I said excuse me and when she turned around... I was in shock. I’m normally not into skinny chicks but this girl had the most gorgeous face I’ve seen in a long time. I said I liked her hat and after that, I flirted with her hard. She was giving me strong eye contact, she asked a few questions about my life which was surprising, and she was quick to give me her number when I asked. She actually brought up the idea of us smoking weed together first. This girl has a decent chance of flaking, but oh well, at least I got to show myself I have a bit of charm.

TLDR: Gandalf helped me be non-reactive at a edm event.

P.S. I feel embarrassed for asking this but how exactly to you set up a hang out with a girl? Do you set the date, activity, etc? I’m terrible with that stuff.
