I think having more important things in your life than girls is the best thing a person can do to become better at social skills or seduction.

When you are focused on other goals or activities over girls, you become: 1) Less needy because your time and emotions are invested in other places. 2) More confident because you see yourself improving in other areas. 3) Better conversation skills because you are doing more things and have more to talk about. 4) You have purpose and direction, which causes you to give off different energy and body language signals.

All the above qualities are what girls find attractive, and will make it easier for you to connect with them.

Some people who try to become good at social skills or seduction ignore these, and that is why they spend years studying seduction but still fail.

The way to become good at seduction is to focus on building a solid foundation where you don't need girl for your happiness or self-esteem. And this is done through having more important things in your life than girls. Then seduction and socializing becomes a lot easier.

I'm not saying to ignore learning social skills or talking to girls. But I am saying not to focus only on that, and don't make it your number one priority.

I also think you should not aim to have an identity as a 'player', or use girls to impress others, as then you put more pressure on yourself. You should have something else for your identity, whether it's your career, hobby, etc. Your identity can be 'engineer', 'basketball player', 'writer', etc.

The guys who get the best results in seduction are often really humble about it, and don't brag to other guys about how good they are with girls. (They normally tell other guys they are bad with girls, because they see girls as human beings they respect, and not objects to use to impress others.) Because of this, they don't need girls to validate their identity and self-esteem, and this causes them to be more attractive.
