All true, but correlation is not the same to as cause-effect. Did a husband become abusive because he drinks, or did he turn to drink because he feels trapped in an abusive relationship?

Regardless, domestic violence can’t be a result of the patriarchy for the simple reason we don’t live in a patriarchy.

it's the same reason why we won't be discussing the fact that lesbian relationships have the highest rates of domestic violence, and gay men the lowest.

it's counter productive to the socio-political goals, and those goals are not fixing Domestic Violence, it's gauging how best to use DV to achieve other goals.
