I would agree that spitting on the street is done more often by men than women, in addition to being rare for anyone to do anyway (a crucial point later in this paragraph), but I think there's a problem with the social licence for 'men do x', 'why do men do x?' etc. based on what one woman saw one man do, perhaps just once, and she's making it look like all men do it all the time and are praised by society for it (like those 'manspreading' memes that used to be in fashion a couple of years ago or outlandish claims as if men had the social licence to belch and pass wind at the dining table, which is a tall tale based on a true inequality but blowing it out of any proportion and making the originally truth-based claim mostly false). It can go as far as a woman using professional social media to call men out on showing, and I beg your pardon, 'dick pictures' to unsolicited recipients, as if that happened everyday in the professional space… or something equally out of scale, out of any normal range, out of all proportion.

Next, she feels grossed out, and that's a legitimate response, but why does she feel that way? She feels that way because it's very rude and uncultured to spit like that. So what does she do? She casts aside politeness and culture and calls men out in a rude way. She finishes that with a vomiting emoticon. Vomiting is far more gross than spitting, and arguably the use of 'fucking gross' in a social-media post isn't a far cry from spitting on the street on the scale of rudeness, either, but apparently that doesn't matter any more. This is thus comparable to one person saying 'dammit' and other replying with something like, 'stop fucking swearing, you [insert a gratuitous expletive],' and feeling like they had legitimately corrected someone.

I don't think the above is a stereotypically feminine behaviour, though, even though I see more of it from women than from men. I would associate it with a certain personality type (this pattern does pop up in MBTI discussions, and that type has more female than male members by a moderate margin, which probably explains some of the difference in statistical frequency) or with certain kinds of neurodivergence or with some sort of personality or cognitive problems. After all, it's not like tweet post is socially well-adapted.

Ironically, seeing what she does there seems to be putting me in the 'women this, women that' mode myself, so I guess that a fairly strong first-hand experience of unfair double standards can produce a cognitive problem with generalizations and proportions and appropriateness of response. She's irked with certain types of rudeness men get away with more easily (traditionally, spitting on the street would fall under that umbrella — already shunned for men but almost completely intolerable for women, hence inequality), and I'm irked with certain types of rudeness women get away with more easily (those annoying posts shaming all men for the acts of one or few).

Women do it too. But men do it more.

Women also leave blood more often on toilet seats.

We have differences and not everything needs to be gendered or made into a gender war.
