Hang on, first off, men do need to worry about being drugged or walking alone at night. And second, is she really comparing feeling uncomfortable to being raped or killed? If so, no wonder they use that 10% poisoned analogy, they see someone being awkward near them or trying and failing to talk to them the same as being murdered

No one cares about women being weary just stop generalizing an entire gender.

It as simple as that”I know not all men are bad but I’m still going to be cautious around strangers!”

If that was the only thing said no one would complain.

No…I wouldn’t eat any of them. And it honestly doesn’t matter the exact proportion of them that are poisonous. Even if I had reason to believe that only one in a thousand skittles are poisonous, I simply wouldn’t eat any skittles. There’s no reason to risk it. This is because eating skittles is completely trivial. The same cannot be said of interacting with fellow human beings. Not to mention that the logic used in this analogy can be made to justify any amount of paranoia simply because the world isn’t absolutely good.

I'm a woman and I've never had to do any of those things. I don't walk around in fear thinking everybody is trying to harm me. You take sensible precautions not to put yourself in danger, sure, but you don't have to walk around clutching your keys. I've always thought that was silly.

Wait a minute, is she serious?

I’m a man and look behind me when walking alone all the time- for someone to tell a man definitively that “you’ve never experienced this” is ridiculous. I never leave my drinks unattended in public either and make sure I have somebody watch and protect them. You can’t tell men that you know nothing about that they’ve “never had to do this”- I would never dream of telling a woman that she’d never been through something.

I’ve never done the key clutching one because I’m disabled and can’t drive, but if I could, then I would- I don’t want anyone robbing my keys.

Same with the code word thing but that’s mainly because I don’t really have a social circle beyond my family and my partner- even then though; if I was out with them and some random person was making me uncomfortable, I would have a secret code word or gesture to signal to them that I wasn’t comfortable.

Just gets sillier and sillier every day. what would bears be then? A case where all the skittles are poisonous. It would be interesting to see what would be the response when men start comparing women with some random animal. pretty harsh I bet. So its not acceptable to dehumanise and humiliate men like this. That too at a point where women enjoy way more privileges than men in general in society.
