According to the story. The power she leverages was the threat of falsely accusing him of domestic violence, an accusation that would ruin his job. This is only possible because men are assumed to be guilty and women truthful, much as we saw with MeToo and BelieveWomen.

Also note that her sentence was suspended. As with the U.S., women are much less likely to be sent to prison and receive lighter sentencing when they do. UK judges were specifically told to be more lenient on women criminals.

Horrific cases like this are driven by such biases. If false accusations by women weren’t believed and if women who committed such crimes weren’t let off so lightly, such cases would be much more rare.

Just going off the title here but ... Business as usual? We've been dealing with this for many many years. We don't need to lift a finger now. They have dug their own hole and still continue to dig. Their poor choices are reflecting in society. Single mothers are all over the place. Chivalry is gone. That protective barrier between women and men is eroding away. Prisons and jails are half full of dads who can't afford child support. Crime is on the rise. Countries are trembling with strain. Look, the system can't last the way it's set up. Let it crash. And having kids at 41 is extremely irresponsible. It's how you have kids with severe congenital deformities. In the best case scenario, you are 60 when they are 20. Not having kids and having a dual income, they could probably retire together in five years. If they have kids, they are going to be working until 70.
