Just buy the damn microwave for yourself, but don't disguise it as a gift for her. That's disingenuous, and she can see that.

If you're at a loss, make it an experience. Go do something you want to do that a woman who likes spending time with you would enjoy. Unless you just don't want to spend time with your wife.

Personally when I see something she would like I buy it. I gave her birthday gift 3 months early. On the actual day we spent it cooking t-bones and drinking whiskey.

The point of gifting is, buy something she would like because you want to and expect nothing in return. Do things because you want to. She's your woman, this not a transaction. Don't use money/gifts to get something. If you want to use money to get sex, go to a prostitute.
