There is a long list of paperwork coming up. Be prepared to get all statements from all accounts, copies of deeds, pink slips, etc...

What about alimony?

Some basics. I don’t know if this stuff has been negotiated already, but you can still tweak the decree. Ensure your assets and liabilities are appropriately divided. If you have 401k accounts or qualify for pensions, offer your stbx cash or other assets to keep those retirement accounts intact. If you have children, ensure you split custody 50/50 or even more in your favor if possible. Get a clause restricting residency to your contiguous counties to make custody transfer easier. Make sure you alternate claiming your children as dependents for income tax purposes.
