Aggressive? Yes, mine was despite me telling him not to. He used language in his emails to ex lawyer that incited more emails. Ie more $$. Also upset my ex with the language so that also. Did. Not. Like.

A good divorce lawyer ignores bullshit drama and focuses on the law and facts that are pertinent to it.

A bad divorce lawyer allows you to focus in on drama that really has nothing to do with the case and act like almost a therapist.

Well, you later should be aggressive in any interaction with the courts, so if they aren't, then you should get a new legal representative

Strangely, mine is not aggressive. However, there’s a reason for that.

He used to practice with the judge in my case. Like, the firm was called Lawyer Name & Judge Name LLP.

So, he knows that cooperation is the best tactic with this guy. Trying to strong arm a 5’3” blonde on the stand won’t look good in the eyes of this judge.

Drives me crazy, but he assures me it’s the right plan.

Most lawyers are narcissistic as they come. I agreed with my EX and left it up to lawyer to draft orders and he still leaves stuff out to try and cause conflict. And charge you more money because we are not going to court

Some are aggressive just to add fuel to the fire so both sides dig their heels in which equals more billable hours. Hopefully you get a fair deal done as quickly and cheaply as possible!

Most are aggressive. They argue for a living, it’s what they do. If you two are at all civil with each other, you should make sure that the lawyers aren’t causing problems where there previously were none. They’re out to get every last bit of that retainer and anything else left in your savings account.
