TLDR: Dad cheated first, then mom cheated many times, I want to confront them about it.

For context, both of my parents absolutely suck at technology, and I am one nosy muthafucka. So it goes without saying that I know a lot more about them than they think I do because I love to snoop around on their devices.

After combing through their texting and emailing, I have compiled a semi-accurate timeline of their infidelity towards each other. I am facing a dilemma and I am grateful for any advice you offer here.

My dad cheated on my mom with a coworker in 2011, and AFAIK he cheated first in their relationship. HOWEVER, I believe he is a changed man. His phone is chock full of porn tabs and photos, but nothing leads me to believe he has cheated since.

Mom was obviously extremely heartbroken, and they did counseling for a long while, but things seemed to work themselves out. No activity in between 2011-2013.

In 2014, she started texting an old male friend romantically, hundreds of miles from where we live. My dad clearly never found out because the two are STILL texting in 2024. She has had three other side pieces these ten years, less worth mentioning because they were short term and nothing physical likely came out of them. I know for certain she and this friend have linked up physically at least once under the guise of "travel" (likely to be many more times, my mom is a frequent traveler).

Bonus knee slapper: It was around 2014 when my mom started to insist we attend church very frequently even though we were always an atheist family. She went ballistic guilt tripping me and my dad into becoming Catholic too, or we were going to Hell. We both shut our mouths and played along. She seemed very genuine in her ways of devoting herself to God by constantly donating and volunteering, but that was all for show to hide her not-so-Catholic activities outside.

So there's a big dilemma here. Do I drop this nuclear truth bomb to them?

I don't know who is at fault more. My dad triggered the dominoes, but my mom played this cheating game to a much larger extent.

If I were to expose them, I want to give my dad the first warning, because he is the rich and hardworking one in the relationship. I don't want him cheated out of his hard earned money. The court system favors women, anyway.

I would free both of them from their miserable marriage and having to pretend to care about each other to keep their son happy. I'm off to college next year anyways, and I am so tempted to drop this bomb right before I board the plane.

I know this was a long post. Sorry!
