Speaking with confidence and clarity is an awesome gift! When you say you speak aggressively, what do you mean?

One of the best tips I’ve heard to exude femininity and grace in speech is to not rush when speaking. Perhaps slowing down and speaking with the confidence and clarity that you already possess will help to enhance your femininity!

Be aware that if you speak in a feminine way while doing speeches, people might disrespect you more, fall asleep, or fail to listen. I have an unexpectedly girlish, soft, feminine way of speaking and whenever I gave talks, people reacted this way unless I forced out a 'masculine' way of speaking (ouch at the throat!). I am sure that there are professional ways to change the way that you speak that can avoid either extremes.

Working towards this goal with a public speaking coach or peer group (Toastmasters, etc.) would likely yield results.

ETA: Gaining the feminine effect you want would likely require a lot of little adjustments and feedback, which is why I think in-person help is the best course here.

I think it’s all in the voice. I remember hearing someone say that women should always operate in life slightly aroused. Apparently our entire demeanor, including voice and the way we speak changes. It’s super interesting if you want to experiment.

Also softening your voice, speaking slower and being more curious rather than informative is feminine to me. Listening is also very feminine. Maybe you can focus more on listening and affirming?

Sometimes when someone is speaking to me for example about a rough day at work I’ll sound board back to them saying ‘that sounds like it was a long day for you’. I’m not adding my opinion or telling them a similar story but I’m letting them share their emotions and experience with me.

Late to the party but wanted to share some perspective...

I don't think speaking in a more feminine way is just about style. A soft, sweet, 'girly' way of communicating is quickly dismissed by most modern women, who want to be seen as more competent, strong and successful.

A woman's lilting voice is very pleasant to listen to. However, lilting up at the end of sentence can make every sentence seem like a question, making the person sound uncertain and lacking in confidence. Possibly attempting to sound more authoritative, some women will dip down into a vocal fry tone at the end of their sentences, which grates on my ears. They sound bored and contemptuous to me.

The intention behind the voice makes a big difference. I grew up with 5 sisters and none of them demonstrated the high empathy, low combativeness my wife does.

Speaking to the empathy, it has a compassion component and a comprehension component. Caring about others rather than just oneself, and understanding others on a deeper level, particularly the emotional undertone.

Speaking to the combativeness, the fairer sex can't compete with physical jousting, some women will gravitate to a verbal variation. They argue, a lot. In every little conversation, they're quick to grab their defensive shield and offensive sword and start the match. I worked with someone like that and it was exhausting. She was passionate, but it seemed misguided towards fighting with her allies.

OP, you seem very smart and competent. Here's something I had to do as a healthcare professional: underplay my smart card and intentionally play my empathy card. I didn't need to prove my intelligence or competence, I needed to show that I understood them and cared about their well-being.

I have to ask, why do you want to change this? Imo nothing about speaking clearly and with confidence is antithetical to being feminine, that's just speaking. I think you may be trying to put gendered labels on methods of articulating which really is not really a thing. What kind of situation do you feel you'd be bested by using more feminine language?
