And men will still get blamed for it

I can hear it now “men and the patriarchy built the AIs that discriminate against men so actually it’s your fault specifically”

If you want to find bias in ChatGPT, talk to it about anything relating to DV, Rape, or the "Gender Pay Gap"

[–]Actual_HumanBeing 4 points5 points6 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I expected as much. I don’t even use it.

[–]Grand-Juggernaut6937[S] 3 points4 points5 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I use it all the time because I simply can’t write brainrot as well as it can. If you’re doing anything for school, recruiting, etc. it’s incredibly useful

Our society despises men and worships women. AI is trained on organic data that reflects this tendency, and beyond that companies have additional supervised and unsupervised training that obviously reflects corporate America's absolute buy-in to feminist dogma and total hatred of men.

Go argue with GPT et al about anything that remotely intersects with feminist dogma and you'll find the AI gets very defensive very quick, will outright attack or dismiss you, and starts spouting the approved phrases and arguments.

And they called it 'suprising'. AI learns from society online. They still didn't get that AI learning from society means society is biased against men.

AI learns from online data but OpenAI especially values “safety and alignment” so they ensure it is unusably PC

[–]antifeminist3 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Interesting that they do not say what they are 'aligning'. So it sounds nice to the general public who have no idea...

[–]Actual_HumanBeing 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not surprised at all… I expected this smh

[–]Grand-Juggernaut6937[S] 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Now we have a links when people try to drown us in justification requests

[–]aerial_coitus 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nothing surprising about gender stereotypes and biases in AI platforms. It is just pathetic they keep pretending like it is surprising.

[–]Grand-Juggernaut6937[S] 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah but you need links like this for the schizos that demand journals do their critical thinking for them

[–]SidewaysGiraffe 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is why it's especially important that you recognize that IT'S NOT AI. It's a generative program that extrapolates from data it's given, and if that data is going to prioritize women over men (which it usually is), then the result will, as well.

This is the fourth or fifth time this subject has been brought up here in just the past week or so. How does this keep surprising people?

[–]Sininenn 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

People worship an algorithm and equate it to a thinking entity.

[–]Grand-Juggernaut6937[S] 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Didn’t surprise me at all, but some people need a PhD to do their thinking for them

[–]aigars2 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Completely not surprised. Try jokes on deep learning platforms. You're not allowed even joke about women.

It’s inaccurate to describe the bias as favoring womens “safety” or that the source of the bias is public data. What the linked article actually says is that programmers of the AI create unintended consequences by the clumsy way they try to avoid stereotypes and prevent the AI from endorsing negative behaviors. So, the AI understands that violence against men or women is equally bad if asked directly, but thinks it is not a moral choice for a man to hit a woman to stop a nuclear explosion. Similarly when asked directly it understands that more men like football than women, but when told to write sentences about people liking football it gives more examples with women.
