I've been closely following the Olympics and did a medal tally today. Excluding mixed events (men and women competing together), here is the breakdown of medals

Women= 60 total Gold 🏅= 21

Men = 44 total Gold🏅= 11

This follows an alarming pattern in this country

College graduates from associates to doctorates Women = 60% Men = 40%

Not to mention these other statistics.....

Suicides Women= 21% Men=79%

Also.....

Men are most adversely affected by sentencing disparity, being twice as likely to be sentenced to prison after conviction than women and receiving on average 63% longer prison sentences, for the same offenses.

In jobs women make 82% of income men make but only work 75% as many hours.....

"Men worked an average of 35.3 hours per week, while women worked an average of 27.8 hours per week"

My conclusion?

Society is failing young men and boys. Of course I'm worried for my daughter and son for different reasons, but overall I'm more afraid of my sons ability to be accepted in society and not dejected/tossed out.

We see a huge wave of misandry everywhere, comparing men to vicious animals and dehumanizing them. Additionally, when these disparities are brought up, the conclusion is never that these issues are systemic (they are) but instead devolve to victim blaming with claims that men need more mental help. This insinuates that there is something wrong with the individuals and not the environment by which they are raised.

"Society didn't disadvantage you, you just need to do better" is the message being sent. This is right wing rhetoric that has been used to justify oppression of POC for centuries.

As a left leaning person, I don't fall for that rhetoric.

What are the consequences of this misandry?

71% of gen z women vote Democrat 26% of gen z women vote Republican

53% of gen z men vote Democrat 42% of gen z men vote Republican

This is an insane detour from history in which both genders of young people overwhelmingly voted democrat. Men/boys feel unheard (because when they try to be heard they are dismissed as mansplaining or other insults), undervalued, and even villified as monsters.

Ironically, this is causing populist Republicans to win elections and in red states start revoking human rights for women and other minorities, adding fuel to the fire for feminists and turning them even more vitriolic against an oppressed group of people. Proletariat men.

It's a vicious cycle.

A gender war has undermined the momentum created by Bernie Sander's class centered movement and our country is literally rewinding it's human rights and education in sort of a dark ages effect.

Conclusion:

If we want to get fundamental human rights back for everyone and move forward as a society we need to subsidize equality for boys in education, social networks, mens only spaces, legal physical and emotional support for men being abused in relationships, paternity rights expansion, divorce legislation equality, men's health issues, and balancing out mysandric censorship with misogynistic censorship in social media, genital mutilation abolishment (circumcision), civil rights advocates for men in courtroom.

There are many other mens rights issues than these to address, but the math is simple. Misandry will lead to a whole new generation of Republicans and a future in which it's human rights are revoked and the oligarchy can more easily take advantage of the working class.
