It's like the idea they have that society is protective of men or supports violence against women, or the idea that society defends rapists and is hateful to rape victims, or the idea that women are treated more harshly by the criminal legal system, or the idea that society is punitive towards female domestic violence victims, etc., despite all the evidence showing these are true for men, not women.

It's like projection, but it isn't because they're saying women go through what men go through rather than accusing men of going through what women actually go through (actual projection).
