If you’re going to the festival anyway (I’m assuming with a separate group of friends?), it’s really up to you. Do you want to chat with her and catch up? You can easily remove yourself from any situation you’re not comfortable with

My ex is like that. We broke up. From the get go I was fully aware that “there can’t be 2 captains in the same ship” is right in most cases. But I also believe relationship is always about working together as a team so I gave it a try.

We fought a lot. Sometimes she said something like “I wish my boyfriend was more agreeable.” I just kept my mouth shut. In my head I was like “find a dog then.” But I knew if I opened my mouth I just proved her right.

I remember reading an article about how you can do 9 things that make your girlfriend happy, and 1 thing you did can make her sad. That 1 thing could make her neglect the other 9 and thinks you’re a bad guy. I showed it to her trying to show her that “hey this is us. I’m not really as bad as what you think of”. Guess what? We fought again.

What’s funny is whenever we had sex she doesn’t want to be on top. I playfully told her “I thought you always wanted to lead. Or only want to do it if you don’t have to put some efforts?”

There’s a lot of small things that I can see that her strong personality mostly comes from her upbringing and her prestige job. So she’s used to people saying yes just to please her. Even when simple things like she asked me about direction which I used google/apple maps she said it’s wrong and she believes more in her “logic”. Obviously my maps proven to be right. But she never apologized. Just consider it never happened. No accountability at all.

There were a couple conversations on how she dislikes how I have lesbian and gay friends -sorry if this is a bit political- and she told me how she’s more conservatives in most areas in life. I just looked at her funny, laughed and said “then you shouldn’t work for *** (the company she works for) in the higher up and your place should be in the kitchen, not telling men what to do.” And she’s mad as hell and started storming off.

I think if you are a submissive type, go for it. I can be agreeable in most cases. I know a contrarian when I see one, been in a school debate team so I’m familiar with trying to find another angle just to find a mistake and attack people. I’m not looking for perfection anyway even tho I could see a loophole from a mile away. I believe the imperfect journey is the perfect one.

But when you see a strong personality one to the point that she starts controlling and be overtly critical even toward small things and wants everything to be perfect the way she wants it, I don’t think it’s worth it.

If you do meet, make it 100% just friends from your side. Don't show any interest, and don't take any of her bait of flirting with you. She just wants you as an orbiter that she can fall back to for attention. Use her to meet other women.
