As a fellow med student I’d bet money you’re just not a good conversationalist. I’ve known so many med student guys who wonder why they’re bad with women. Then I see them talk to girls and all they can talk about is med school or themselves and I see the hoes getting scared in real time.

It’s common for doctors to be socially retarded because they focus so much on career so don’t feel too bad about it. It can be fixed but you’re gonna have to put it some serious leg work to undo all those years of poor socialization. The solution is to spam approach. 1-2 on weekdays and 10+ on outings. Treat every failure as a learning opportunity and don’t give up no matter what. Be a scientist. Observe others, experiment, and keep pushing the envelope.

Maybe supplement with a general pick up book but ABSOLUTELY do not fall into the reading no action trap.

Big tip is you need to be genuinely interested in the women you speak to and connect with them on a deeper level. Make them feel emotions, make them laugh, make your interactions memorable to the best of your ability.

I'll be honest, I don't enjoy talking with people that much anymore (it could be a side effect of drugs and the fact that after my semester abroad I learnt that people aren't that special in my opinion. In fact, beside a couple of close friends, I don't give too much of a shit about others).

I think you might need to talk to your therapist about this. Do you need your medication reviewed? Maybe you need it reduced and incorporate some behavioural strategies?

I'm concerned that you're "not giving a shit about others". It's not healthy, maybe you are burnt out, compassion fatigued?

You need to challenge this conception, every person is unique and has something you can learn from. You're observing the world through a hospital setting, where most people are stressed / in crisis / low states / paid to work with you, they are not a good representative of the wider population.

There's a high crossover in skills with sociability and dating. You must be really tired, but if you can change your frame and find the energy to socialise or empathise with someone, it can build skills and emotional intelligence for dating and make you a better MD.

It's good that your recognise you have issues with women, I think issues will largely stem back to dating co-morbidity's. You've seen the positive impact it's had when you've managed them with therapy. Manage those dating co-morbidity's in yourself ("The last couple of years were really dark for me even for other reasons", anxiety, overworked, inexperience).

And frequently I'm practicing in the hospital.

No offence, but it's highly likely in the next 12 months a Nurse is going to lock you down in a relationship. You need to be more aware of what you want and wearing protection.

There's a lot that goes into dating success with women. You need to first think you're awesome before anyone else will. You can't believe an attractive woman is above you and you can't let her rejection affect your self-esteem. You need to have clarity on your goals and what you're looking for. You need to have the right strategy to approach, converse, flirt, and seduce. There's resources that go over everything. I made my own and I also have detailed book notes of other good ones. You just need to work on your social interactions by practicing with more approaches.

Focus more on having a playful fun interaction instead of just talking about work or anything like that. Some brief discussion is fine but then go back to the flirty/playful banter, which will help you 10x fold.

Your 6'4 and you're getting rejected. You must be royally fucking up. I'm 6'5 and at no time in my life I was stuck for women no matter how shy I was or how bad I was at conversations.

I remember once bagging a pharmacist in a hospital during a clinic visit.

We were both incredibly nervous she was tall very good looking and classy.
